A postdoctoral fellow or research associate position is available immediately in the laboratory of Dr. Laura Nagy in the Department of Inflammation and Immunity at the Cleveland Clinic to study the role of complement and the innate immune system in the progression of alcohol-associated liver disease and kidney disease. The research will focus on the effects of chronic ethanol on complement activation, inflammation and fibrosis in kidney utilizing cell culture, murine models and patient biospecimens.  Approaches used in the lab range from molecular to translational, with an emphasis on bioinformatics.

Experience in at least one of the following areas is desired: cell biology, signal transduction, molecular biology, complement, kidney physiology, bioinformatics or macrophage biology. Experience in experimental design and data analysis in cultured cells, animal models and large ‘omics datasets is preferred.  Strong written and oral communication skills are required.

Candidates should have a recent PhD in cell biology, immunology, biochemistry, or related discipline and experience in signal transduction and cell biology.
